Sodium chlorate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NaClO3.It is usually a white or slightly yellow equiaxed crystal with a salty and cool taste.It is easily soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol.It has strong oxidation in acidic solutions and decomposes above 300℃to produce oxygen.Sodium chlorate is unstable.Mixing with phosphorus,sulfur,and organic matter is prone to combustion and explosion when impacted,and is prone to moisture absorption and agglomeration.In industry,it is mainly used to manufacture chlorine dioxide,sodium chlorite,perchlorate,and other chlorates.
